TO THE EDITOR:
Who is the Automotive News editorial Grinch recommending Congress’ efforts to keep AM radio in cars be defeated (“AM radio bill is a ploy to protect outdated tech,” autonews.com, June 11)?
Aside from the occasional emergency alert, I rely on AM radio for current news, talk, sports, traffic, weather and other important information. I’m also a very regular SiriusXM satellite radio listener and typically switch back and forth between the two both locally and when traveling, and I do not want to have to stream AM (or SiriusXM) through my phone.
So the absence of either AM or available SiriusXM in any new vehicle will be a deal killer for me going forward. I do not wish to own, lease or even drive any vehicle without quick, easy access to both. And I’ll bet many others agree.
