Jeep’s 4xe portfolio of electrified products continues to expand.

So far, the off-road brand has plug-in hybrid variants of the Wrangler and Grand Cherokee only. The next step of Jeep’s electric transition in its biggest market begins in 2024, when two battery-electric vehicles debut: the rugged, Wrangler-inspired Recon and the luxurious Wagoneer S crossover.

Jeep says it will introduce four zero-emission vehicles in North America and Europe by 2025. The Avenger EV launches in Europe in 2023 but won’t make it to the U.S. because the vehicle, which is smaller than the Renegade subcompact crossover, doesn’t fit this market.

Recon: Production begins in 2024, with orders starting early next year. The Recon EV will offer open-air experiences with a power top and removable doors and glass.

Wagoneer S: The SUV nameplate is getting an electric midsize crossover sibling with unique design language that sets it apart. Jeep is targeting a range of 400 miles and aims for it to have 600 hp and a 0-to-60-mph time of around 3.5 seconds. Production will start in North America in 2024. It will be sold in major markets around the world, including Europe. Consumers can begin ordering it in early 2023.

Gladiator: A redesign of the midsize pickup could emerge around 2027 in unison with the next Wrangler midsize SUV.
Wagoneer L/Grand Wagoneer L: Extended versions of the burly utility vehicles debuted at the New York auto show in April and will go on sale later in the year as the brand looks to contend with the Cadillac Escalade ESV, Chevrolet Suburban, GMC Yukon XL and Lincoln Navigator L. The lengthened vehicles will be powered by two versions of Stellantis’ new 3.0-liter, twin-turbo inline six-cylinder Hurricane engine. The Wagoneer L will feature the Hurricane engine that produces 420 hp and 468 pound-feet of torque, while the Grand Wagoneer L will be packed with the high-output version rated at 510 hp and 500 pound-feet of torque.
Wagoneer/Grand Wagoneer:
The premium SUVs arrived in 2021 to take on the Escalade and Navigator. Jeep says plug-in hybrid 4xe versions will go on sale in 2024.

Wrangler: A new generation of the midsize off-roader, which was redesigned for the 2018 model year, isn’t expected until around 2027.

Grand Cherokee L: The nameplate’s first three-row entry debuted in 2021 with a new architecture.

Grand Cherokee: The Grand Cherokee was redesigned for the 2022 model year. A plug-in hybrid 4xe version debuted this year. It could move to Stellantis’ STLA Large platform in 2027.

Cherokee: A redesign could arrive in 2025, when it moves to the STLA Large platform, and production could shift to Mexico from Belvidere, Ill., according to AutoForecast Solutions.

Compass: The compact crossover was freshened for the 2022 model year with a more refined interior and the new Uconnect 5 infotainment system.

Renegade: A redesigned Renegade subcompact crossover could arrive in 2026 on the STLA Small platform for electrified vehicles.
